The emotions and their colors have really left a mark on kids (not just mine) in helping them express themselves. We loved the emotions in the film – Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear and Anger. While we were at Target picking up our copy of Disney-Pixar’s Inside Side out for a fun movie night, we also grabbed a few craft supplies. It just came out on DVD and Blu-Ray (and digital which I recommend so they can watch it on their tablets), and my kids have watched it almost everyday! Like most violent games, you get a rocket launcher. Just this month, the developers released a free update to Postal 2 to add some modern bug fixes and Steam Deck compatibility. In the two decades since its launch, Postal has spawned four expansions and two sequels - which have some of the lowest scores of all time on Metacritic. Ultimately, the law was struck down, with Justice Antonin Scalia writing that it infringed on their first amendment rights. In 2011, Supreme Court justices were forced to play Postal 2 in order to rule on a 2005 California law banning the sale of violent video games to children. ![]() It was banned in Australia, Sweden, New Zealand, and Germany. Postal 2 instantly became the target of political discourse, due to its over-the-top action, racism, and off-color jokes. In today’s market, AO or Adults Only-rated games mainly exist in the Hentai section of Steam, where getting too much blowback can cause a game to get pulled. ![]() Made in an era before games were made by teams of hundreds with pristine PR departments, Postal 2 is just too obscene. But without Postal 2 and that era of dude-bro games, we’d never have come to that conclusion. The gaming industry has moved past over-the-top action and stereotypes, choosing not to alienate huge swaths of its audience just for the memes. Though fondly remembered by some, these games are looked back at with fear and cringe. Postal 2 has a legacy in the same vein as Custer's Revenge or BMX XXX, both titles that were more offensive than they were fun. In retrospect, it’s the last hurrah of a bygone era when games were primarily marketed toward edgy young men, complete with misogynistic mascots like Duke Nukem and Leisure Suit Larry. ![]() As the decades have gone by, gaming has become more inclusive. It sold more than five million copies at the time, but Postal 2 could never be made today. A gimp suit in Postal 2 because the game held nothing back. Overdrafting may decrease the amount of groundwater that naturally feeds surrounding water bodies, including wetlands, lakes, rivers and streams. Įxtracting groundwater at a rate that is faster than it can be naturally replenished is often referred to as overdrafting. For that reason, when it comes to drying performance, we score the DriBUDDI 3.5/5 Specs While this seems like a reasonable dry time, JML states that an average wash load should take “between 1 and 3 hours”, which was not reflected in our test. However, I set the timer for an additional half hour, which left the clothing completely dry and ready to be put away in drawers.ĭry time: 4 hours to iron damp, 4.5 hours to bone dry We used a mixed load as we wanted to test in real-world conditions, but a load composed entirely of light materials such as cotton T-shirts or underwear would likely dry faster.Īfter a further hour, the washing was only slightly damp – if I was planning to iron immediately or hang items up in a wardrobe or on a clothes rail, I would have happily removed the load at this point. I had imagined the lighter items would dry before the heavier items, however the thickness of the material proved to have a negligible effect on dry time, probably due to the damp air circulating within the airer. After a three-hour dry cycle, the clothing was still damp to the touch. The timer allows you to set a dry time up to three hours. Our test load hanging on the airer before we added the zip-up cover ready for drying With one point available for each of the bolded elements above, we score the DriBUDDI 4/5. In an extra compartment, you’ll find two additional components: a zip-up cover and protective disc for the motor unit, to prevent any stray drips from coming into contact with the motor (the manufacturer specifically warns against using the airer for dripping wet clothing). Nevertheless, the overall set-up time only took around ten minutes. The trickiest part was fitting the legs into the body of the airer – the light and hollow legs felt too flimsy to exert much force, so it took a couple of minutes of wiggling to attach securely. Overall, set-up was very simple and the instructions laid out in the accompanying booklet were clear and easy to follow. Looking at the packaging’s sustainability, the cardboard outer box is recyclable, but individual elements are wrapped in soft plastic film which will need to be disposed of in your waste bin. The DriBUDDI is a self-assembly airer, composed of three legs, a motor unit with a timer, a support pole and the hanging unit. That said, it still works out cheaper than a tumble dryer in most instances. ![]() ![]() However, be aware that our test load required about an hour longer to dry than the manufacturer’s estimate. JML’s DriBUDDI offers great value for money when compared to similar models on the market – it’s easy to set up and use, and has a capacity large enough to accomodate a full load. Short on time? The DriBUDDI in 30 seconds Plus, if you can’t afford the initial outlay of a tumble dryer or you don’t have the room to install a permanent appliance, the DriBUDDY is a more attractive alternative. Assuming two cycles a week, this would equate to a saving of £46.80 over the course of a year. This suggests that a heated clothes airer could be around 20% cheaper to run than an tumble dryer, saving you 45p per wash. ![]() However, using a very rough average of a tumble dryer using 4.5kW with a 90 minute cycle time, the cost would be £2.29 per cycle. To get a more precise estimate for your tariff, you can use SUST-IT’s energy cost calculator.Ĭomparing this to the cost of running a tumble dryer is tricky – it depends on the energy consumption of the tumble dryer, the type (condenser vs vented vs heat pump) and the length of the drying cycle. If run for 4.5 hours, as we did, this equates to a running cost of £1.84 per cycle, using current energy cap rates. The JML DriBUDDI operates via a 1200W motor.
